We are firm believers that every relationship can benefit from sex therapy. After all, sex is one of the major components that keeps a relationship alive and thriving! While it can seem a little uncomfortable of a concept, sex therapy with OR without your partner (or partners) can be a great way to learn more about yourself, your fantasies, and open you up to possibilities you didn’t even know existed!

Here are three reasons your relationship may benefit from sex therapy:

  1. It can improve your communication: Open communication is hard, but open communication about subjects like sex is even harder. Sex therapy can help guide difficult conversations, and build a foundation of trust that goes far beyond the bedroom and opens up topics of conversation of all types.
  2. It can help you navigate differences in sexual preference: Everyone has different tastes and likes different “flavors” of sex, from vanilla to kinky! Just because you find yourself enjoying different things than your partner, does not mean you cannot enjoy sex and have a healthy sexual relationship. Sex therapy is a great way to navigate all these differences and find a happy medium.
  3. Sex therapy can be fun: We have a lot of fun in sex therapy! We get to talk about things that you may not get to discuss elsewhere, and it can be a safe space to explore fantasies, and get to know yourself a bit better!

Overall – sex therapy PROBABLY is a little bit different than you might expect. It’s no pressure, and definitely not awkward like you may expect. What questions do you have for us about coming to sex therapy at our office?
